NEJA 2018 YEAR END NEWS LETTER
November 15th, 2018
We would like to thank everyone for such a great season! All of our shows have had great turn outs this year. Next year we hope to do the same but also add more!
We have one last event for the 2018 season. December 8th at Kennebec Morgan Farm we will be hosting our 3rd Annual Christmas Spectacular! We will be offering a total of 30 classes at this event. This show is the last chance for members to acquire points for year end awards. This event is also open to non-members and pre entries will recieve $10 off their total bill. All regular classes will be $15 each.
We hope everyone has enjoyed the 2018 season as much as we have and we hope to see everyone next year!
YEAR END BANQUET
This year our year end awards banquet will be at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston Maine on January 12th at 3:30pm. ALL are welcome, we encourage anyone who is a member, competed in any NEJA event to come celebrate the season with us! We will have a hot meal, dessert, Fusion Bar, FREE raffle, and amazing silent auction items! We will have 2019 announcements followed by awards and prizes.
We recognize that all horses and riders work hard and dedicate themselves to showing and earning points. This banquet is to formally congratulate and reward riders and horses for all their hard work. We urge riders to invite their friends, family, and barn family to join them and support their winnings.
The banquet cost will be $30 per adult and $20 per child (10 & under) if receive before RSVP deadline. Forms received after that or day of will have an additional $5 charge. Also please note: In order to receive your award(s) you must attend this event, we will not be mailing awards out to non addenties.
BARN BASH FUNDRAISER
This year we will be having our second barn bash fundraiser February 16th at the Ramada Inn in Lewiston! Last year we had such a great turnout and amazing support from our horse community! This year is going to be bigger and better than last year!
This event is open to the public, all members and non members. We will have a big spaghetti dinner, including appetizers, salad, garlic bread and dessert. We will also have a bar for adults of age. Along with a great dinner we will have raffles and a large silent auction with items for all ages, including non horsey items.
What is the fundraiser for? This fundraiser is to help us raise money to build new or buy new jumps. As of right now we have enough fences to make a complete jumper course but this years focus is on building a full hunter course and start building cross country fences. We are working toward building a bigger an better show environment and association that can offer more for our riders.
Silent Auction? Will there be any regular items? Absolutely! This event if for horsey and non horsey people of all ages! We will have some equestrian and equine related auction items but not all! We will have a large diversity of auction items such as, hair and nail salon gift cards, tool/tool box sets, automotive items, restaurant gift certificates, kids items, Tv’s, gift baskets and MORE! We encourage everyone to invite everyone they know, the more the merrier!!
RSVP Tickets are $15, if you do not order tickets in advance, day of door tickets will be $20. If coming from out of state, the Ramada Inn will have rooms for attendees at a separate cost. Please share this event with anyone who may be interested and we hope to get great support from our community!!
WINTER SHOW SERIES
This year we will have three winter shows, starting in February. Two events will be hunter/jumper shows at Hideaway Acres. Our third show will be a winter 2-phase at Kennebec Morgan Farm. We are hoping to affiliated with MEHJA and MECTA for these events.
Dates:
Febuary 24th, 2019 - NEJA Hunter/Jumper Winter Series I at Hideaway Acres
March 31st, 2019 - NEJA Hunter/Jumper Winter Classic at Hideaway Acres
April TBA, 2019 - NEJA Winter 2-phase at Kennebec Morgan Farm

The LOW DOWN on 1st Barn Bash Fundraiser
The New England Jumpers Association had a fabulous turnout at their first fundraiser on Saturday February 17th! They raised a little over $2500, all proceeds from this event will be going toward building new jumpers for Sassy Strides new facility!
Sassy Strides Equestrian is partnered with NEJA in building the ultimate equestrian facility in Central Maine. Both companies are owned and opperated by the Samay Family. Excavation is planned to start in the spring for this new property, and has said to be having three outdoor rings, a large indoor and barn with lots of trailer parking.
NEJA & Sassy Strides Equestrian would like to thank everyone for coming and supporting this great cause. Also a big thank the Ramada Inn staff, all of the company’s & businesses that donated auction items and a very special thank you to the parents who helped with food.
NEJA will be having another fundraiser May 5th for the same cause. BBQ & Bottle Drive Fundraiser at Sassy Strides Equestrian. This will be our second fundraiser for Sassy Strides, all proceeds will go toward purchasing new jumps for the new riding rings. Our total goal is $25,000, with this money NEJA & Sassy Strides will be able to decorate all the rings beautifully with jumps, fillers and flower.
"The Bottle Drive & BBQ will be at Sassy Strides Equestrian Center, come join us for a fun filled afternoon! Enjoy some wonderful BBQ food, great music, a 50/50 Raffle along with other raffles and games such as corn hole and kick ball. The cost is a $15 food charge the DAY OF , bring as many returnables with you as possible. Our goal is to fill the New England Jumpers’ Association jump trailer with bottles. You can collect from friends, family, neighbors, or even your work.
This event is put on by The New England Jumpers Association and Sassy Strides Equestrian and is for EVERYONE, bring your friends, family, coworkers and neighbors. The more money we raise the more jumps we can buy. Help support your local equestrian center.

Be sure to check out the calendar for new updates & changes. Also check out our "Clinic" Page to see the update on the jumping clinics we are offering this summer and fall! You can now register for a clinic on our website. Show Info - Show entry fees will be increasing starting June 19th. Late fees & Ground fees will be increasing. Starting 2017 there will be a non-membership fee added. Membership Info - Early Reminder : Next year NEJA Membership fees will be increasing from $20 a year to $35, you can buy a two year membership to avoid the big price change. This change will be starting Jan 1st, 2017. We have to change to change our prices do to the raise in cost to run our shows. Thank you for your understanding. ENTRY FORMS - For all shows there will be a Pre-entry Open and Close date. By sending in pre-entries you are helping us configure how many people are riding, how much food we need to make, how many staff people we need to call in and how many ribbon orders we need to place. Sending in pre-entries are a BIG help to us. Please send in your pre-entries and make our job a little easier. Even if you are not sure , we would rather have you send one and not show up than not know you were coming and us be unprepared. We accept pre-entries by EMAIL, POSTAL MAIL & by our WEBSITE, you can also take a picture of it and text it to us at (207)514-6626. If you send entries by Postal Mail Please attach a blank check. If you happen to not show up we void the check and rip it up. If you do not send in a pre-entry and register at the show, which is fine as well, but you will have to pay a late fee. Winter Series - We are now looking for farms to host 3 winter series dates. If you would like us to host a show at your farm this winter email us. Requirements : MUST have INDOOR, MUST have plenty of parking. MUST have a few jumps.
